EU policy advisorFull time, Brussels

Accountancy Europe is the voice of the European accountancy profession. We represent 1 million accountants, auditors and advisors as the umbrella organisation of their 50 national professional bodies. We translate their daily experience to inform the EU and global policy debate.

We are looking for an EU-policy advisor, preferably with a legal background, to strengthen our advocacy team.

Your responsibilities:

  • Monitor EU legislative and policy developments in corporate governance, sustainable finance, auditing and financial reporting
  • Analyse the impact of these developments on the accountancy profession
  • Prepare policy briefings and newsletters for our leadership, member bodies and stakeholders
  • Draft publications (including addressing comments and conducting research)
  • Support the operation of groups where we gather expert input, including agendas, calls and presentations
  • Support event/webinar organisation
  • Follow and attend webinars, events and stakeholder meetings

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Demonstrated analytical skills
  • Excellent drafting and researching skills
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role in a European association, law firm, consultancy or the EU institutions
  • Master’s degree in EU law, economics or European politics
  • Experience working on financial services (especially EC Sustainable Finance Action Plan)
  • Fluent in spoken and written English
  • Friendly, flexible, willing to learn and able to manage work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to take ownership of projects and see them through
  • Legally able to work in the EU


  • Background combining EU law and policy
  • Knowledge/experience in corporate governance and/or sustainability
