The international Public Interest Oversight Board (PIOB) held its first meeting on Tuesday, 1 March 2005. The PIOB’s role is to oversee the work of IFAC’s auditing, ethics and education standard-setting committees and its Member Body Compliance Program. The PIOB is chaired by Stavros Thomadakis, Professor of Finance at the University of Athens and former Chairman of the Hellenic Capital Market Commission.
